It's one of the reasons why I really like Seteth. Sylvain hit on Ingrid's grandmother? This is a dark, sad, unfulfilling ending where both suffer. And of course, Felix. The value placed on Crests in Faerghus appears far more severe than elsewhere (see: Ingrid and Sylvain's personal crises), the way death on the battlefield is glorified via characters like Rodrigue is enough to make you cry, and Gilbert abandoned a loving wife and daughter for years on end due to a mangled sense of duty and honor. Well, you know the drill! Even after all these years, I aspire to be the type of knight that he embodied. Ingrid declined to rule House Galatea, choosing instead to serve House Blaiddyd as a knight. Her non-BL normal ending isn't as happy for her, but she doesn't have as much luxury in that ending. It's like there in the same place they started at the beginning. She was free to pursue her dream as a knight without her father around, but never actually sees it come into fruition. As for me, I prefer to think that Ingrid becomes a knight in this ending. And I like that SHE proposed to him. You're a god damn poet is what you are. I like a lot her ending with Sylvain: Dislike: She is not one of my favorite characters: Ingrid (Azure Moon) Ingrid (Other routes) Ingrid & Byleth (Azure Moon) ... Ingrid & Sylvain. Mercedes can also see through Sylvain like he is made of glass. Not later, but now. also YES his support with Mercedes is freakin' amazing. Another stellar review, and one I’ve been looking forward to! I played Chinese version of this game. Technically not a sad ending, but not her greatest since her dreams never came to be. In this ending, both get to live out their dreams, she as a knight and he as a painter. I've already done Linhardt, Felix, Lysithea, and Dorothea. Next up is Hilda! So with all that said, let's rank his endings. It fit both there characters and both got to be happy. (other) *i’m not entirely sure how the second ending gets unlocked. But his most depressing ending is with Felix-Other's ending. However, I cannot ignore that failing to become a knight just isn't her happiest ending. Ingrid was engaged from birth to Glenn of House Fraldarius, and they were in the way to actually fall in love, but her fiance was killed during the Tragedy of Duscur when she was 13 years old. Press J to jump to the feed. Contrast with Ingrid's focus on defence. He seems to come ok regardless of the path he has chosen for himself. I just want to share some of my thoughts of Ingrid with you. It's a compromise, but not a bad one. Oh and they serve as an example to help ease racism against the Duscur people! I'm glad you enjoyed it! There is no other pair of titles and no other title with “Knight”. They raised happy children, all Crest-less, and changed the ways in nobility. But in Japanese version, the lines are quite different. Starting with the greatest supports, we have Byleth's endings. A collection of fragments about Sylvain's love for Ingrid, from their academy days to the war. They worked together to understand each other, apologize to each other, and learn from each other. Also in this group is the Normal-Other, Ignatz-Other and Ashe-Other. It sounds as though he died with a heavy heart–a heart that carried regret. As Faerghus worked with the Church of Seiros to advance policy, Ingrid served as an envoy between the two. It's like the Notebook. The support conversations of Ingrid/Ashe talk about stories of knights. I don’t think Ingrid is shown to have attraction to Sylvain (on top of being a footnote in their ending) and while Mercedes has a deeper relationship with Sylvain, I just don’t see it as especially romantic. I mean, it's not a whole lot of people, but a pretty decent amount. After becoming the new archbishop of the Church of Seiros, Byleth announced her marriage to Sylvain, heir to House Gautier. I. Dedue: This one I have mixed feelings on. Her father cares about her and is willing to listen. Felix changed her mind. In all other paths, Ingrid fails to reach knighthood, or at least as far as we can tell from the endings, and instead fulfills her duty as a noble. BTW, Ingrid is similar to Felix in that a lot of her endings depend on whether she sticks around the Blue Lions or not. Sure, she's at odds with him, but she doesn't hate him. As Margrave Gautier, Sylvain devoted his life to improving relations with the people of Sreng. Probably because I used FByleth and that kinda cemented in my head for the character. She serves as Dimitri's knight, as Glenn did. They certainly had chemistry but I honestly don't know if I see it as platonic or romantic in nature. That's without even mentioning that Ingrid isn't a knight in the ending. It was thanks to the help of Ashe, who arrived to serve House Galatea, that she was able to soften the view the people had toward her by restoring the territory and improving its agriculture. But in Ingrid's endings in which she fulfills her dream of becoming a knight, it's explicitly stated that she does so. More specifically, 'ensured that' could be interpreted as 'handled defence and military affairs for the people, creating a safe and secure environment for the people to prosper'. She still loves her family, and her happier endings would have her being both a knight WITHOUT cutting ties with those who truly loved her and did their best for her, even starving for her. For two people who are so alike, shallow at first glance but a deeper pool of complex emotions swirling below a seemingly calm surface, this is a ending I can get behind. Under his leadership, nobles were persuaded that Relics and Crests were not necessary as they'd previously thought. Since she left her people initially, I understand why they would be apprehensive about her return. And Ingrid makes for a great partner, for they share many desires for their futures. In the case with Felix, the only way to get their happy ending together is to go Blue Lions. All prompt fills will be Ingrid and Sylvain. I believe they are close friends, and I can even see romantic chemistry, but I don't think they overall bring each other their own best endings. Slightly below them is the Raphael-Other ending. But for most of his paired endings, I would argue that it's not that he lacks courage, but rather that he has found new purpose in life with someone he feels comfortable and complete with. You have a lot of good thoughts and they reflect my own in a lot of ways, even if I never said them. They had a solid friendly banter going near the end, but it never felt like good romance. They have such a deep history together, both being affect by the Tragedy of Duscur, and battling side by side at such young ages later in life. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. However, it comes from a place of concern and care. They may be childhood friends, but they lack the dynamic that would bring them together in a paired ending. And I love how she becomes a mirror image of Kyphon (from Ashe's supports), who parried an assassin's blade to protect the king. Seteth is by no means a terrible companion for her; he brings her comfort in wisdom that others are unable to share in the same way. Works; Bookmarks; Filters They stem from how Ingrid's racism was handled. Similar to Ashe, both Ingrid and Raphael are similar in that they aspire to be knights, although Raphael has a wildly different set of reasons than Ashe. Byleth announced his marriage to Ingrid shortly after succeeding Rhea as the new archbishop. She becomes a warrior queen (or even just a normal queen). That said, even I would argue that they are all on equal footing. But I'll add some more thought in the conclusion part of this analysis. Wow... link. Her approach to Crests differs from Sylvain in that she is able to understand and comes to terms with the practically of Crests more, and therefore is way less aggressive towards their existence. Once I reach her, you will see a very different ranking for her! I just love this because you can see how it both fits Ingrid's dream and her past. I like how the focus on their supports isn't on how Ignatz is too nervous and gentle for his own good; rather, it's on his art. She specifically decides to form her own Knight corps to serve as personal bodyguards to protect the nobility. : 2nd Word Count: 573 Words. The couple had many children, and while not one of them bore a Crest, they were all equally and wholeheartedly loved. Both of them would be happy in this ending. They really come to understand each other in their A rank, deciding that they would still like each other even in they were old, and get that chance to show that they meant it. Personally I don't like her supports with Dedue that much? It did not take much convincing. maybe if felix doesn’t also unlock an ending where he settles down with someone? It's hard to imagine now. A truly divine ending for them both. Although I haven't talked about her yet, Felix and Ingrid are special to Sylvain because of their past together as childhood friends. I'll discuss the line that is said here, then the other line in the BL route. As Galatea's prosperity grew, so too did the love between Ingrid and Ashe. This was a really interesting read! I still think they should have had supports actually tackling Sylvain's philandering ways more and getting to the crux of the problem, but ultimately, I do not think it was necessary. So.... Well..... No, not a happy ending at all. They both grew to despise the nobility for this very reason. I hope you can understand my English:), Been looking forward to this one! Either way, I adored these supports. When the fighting was over, Byleth and Sylvain were married. She does have her own reasons for resenting crests, so it's a but satisfying on that front for her, but otherwise she really doesn't get any emphasis in this ending. Even after they ascended the throne, Claude and Ingrid argued frequently. I didn't keep track. As a fan, I hope that all her dreams can be achieved:), Thank you for your work again. I read many of the support conversations of Ingrid. link. They both suffered for them. The use of the word 'Tenacity' followed by 'ensured (they would) prosper' suggests that Ingrid did take up the role of a Knight and actively defended the people. Idk why I am, I just thought the girl analysis would be way more read). Regardless of what my father desires. In VD/SS, that line change shows us she parted ways with her father. Sylvain is the second green tome cavalier released in the summer months of 2020, and he made his debut appearance in Heroes on the heels of Selena. The darkest timeline. The philanderer himself! Here’s hoping you keep this up for every character, because I can’t wait! Both of them suffered for their Crests, and therefore are able to know what the other is going through. While I do like this ending, it doesn't seem like Ingrid becomes a knight here. It's a totally fair feeling. Starting with the top, we have Byleth-BL and Ashe-BL. It's one of the reasons why she connects well with Dimitri- they both believe they are plagues upon the world. As time passed, and the region prospered, Ingrid and Ignatz bonded over their reunion. He tries to be sincere with her, and truly feels at ease in her presence. But with Byleth, she is able to open up a side of him that I don't think he even knew he had. In B support, Felix said “You're not meant to be a knight”. But in the one path where she stays with her family, and even gets their blessing to fight is the only one where she finds knighthood. They were both praised for their endless devotion and boundless courage, and their names went down in history as peerless knights. After achieving widespread renown, she formed an elite order of pegasus knights who served as personal bodyguards to the nobility. It basically reads the same as Ashe's-Other ending, but since I felt like they lacked the chemistry that Ingrid and Ashe had, it deserved to be on a lower spot. I guess she follows her heart, but they just fuck off into the wilderness, never becoming a knight or anything, really. Both are able to realize there is more to each other, and are able to peek beneath the masks they both wear. Raphael returned to his home town to serve his liege lord as a knight, and spent his spare time helping out at the inn that his grandfather and sister had opened during his time away. He had one older brother Miklan, who was disinherited by House Gautier, as it is required for the family head to bear a Crest. There's something beautiful about how she only becomes a knight on BL route and earns his approval, rather than running away and failing to do either. Both of them leave their homeland forever, and become mercenaries. Why is this important? I am a personal sucker for her ending with Dedue. Ingrid could've been a knight for Sylvain. Hilda is another interesting case, so I'm pretty stoked to see what the devs had planned for her! This is echoed in the Mercedes and Dorothea A supports, but the connection feels more genuine to me in those supports because they can empathize with Sylvain’s struggles, where Byleth can at best feel pity or sympathy. Galatea always suffered from lack of resources, and she found a way to lift up her people through farming. Ingrid was never really called out, which I feel like was necessary. When I try to find some evidences of my point , I find out that there is a big difference between English version and Japanese version in support B with Mercedes. The non-BL ending is the usual but with Ignatz painting her to make more liked. /. There is a line change that makes all the difference. I'm reading these in segments because I want to stay blind to certain endings until I've gotten them myself, but the parts I have read are really really good. This is the only Byleth ending that mentions he did away with the Crest system in his territory directly. Meanwhile, Felix never returns to what was once the Kingdom if he has an ending outside of the BL route. Childhood Friend Romance: Ingrid, Dimitri, Sylvain, and Felix spent their childhood together, and Ingrid can end up married to Dimitri, Sylvain, or Felix, while Felix can be paired with Sylvain (Dimitri's ending with him is purely platonic, as he is stated to have married someone else). At least they find peace together in the end, however. BL Normal = Ashe BL = Ignatz BL > Byleth BL = Dimitri > Dedue = Raphael BL > Seteth > Byleth GD/Church > Normal Other = Ashe Other = Ignatz Other > Raphael Other = Byleth BE > Felix BL > Felix Other > Claude = Sylvain. What a saint! Their wedding ceremony was intended to be a simple one, but lavish blessings from the citizenry made it a lively event. He grew up with his childhood friends Dimitri, Felix, and Ingrid. He achieved a great deal, including fostering relations with Faerghus and helping to institute sweeping organizational changes within the church. Dedue's ending is extremely high, and almost equal, because of her character growth. Her relationship with Dimitri, Felix, and Sylvain also played a part in her character arc. I personally prefer Sylvain and Mercedes as a deep friendship to a romantic pairing (I just don’t ship Mercedes romantically with anyone, she’s too much of a big sister figure), but it works better as a romantic ship than with Ingrid or Byleth for me. And in each one, he brings about changes that help Foldan greatly. Do we not all have parents who wish things from their children? I guess I just wish the A support had a less awkward ending? After the war, Felix and Sylvain inherited their respective titles of Duke Fraldarius and Margrave Gautier, and set to work restoring the Kingdom. Unlike Felix, who goes from Duke from one ending to murderous wandering hobo in another, Ingrid is much more stable and manages to find ways to be successful. In every other route except BL, Ingrid had to abandon her territory (this is further emphasized by the fact she has to be granted the right to govern it after it was seized) and her father and family.
